About This Project

The Westernmost block of City Walk is host to a Civil Rights storytelling zone along the street edge with paving patterns on the ground which echo the distinct paving patterns from the Civil Rights district just a few blocks south. This dynamic street edge will focus on stories of the Civil Rights Era and will be portrayed through digital signage as well as static signage, all meant to attract, educate, and provide a cultural connection within City Walk, only a few short blocks from the Birmingham Civil Rights District to the south.
